I have had a great week. I haven’t broken any of my time records, but for three of four days my time was improving. The fourth day my head was just dealing with too much personal stuff to let the rest of me get my run on. I’m so thankful for the time I have to get out. It’s not much but it is helping me deal with life challenges in a much more positive way than I normally would, just like my time with friends does.
This week, four of us had brunch and it was so wonderful to just hang out and talk and eat and everything was healthy. Everybody in our group is so supportive and positive and creative and fun in our glorious humanity. I have been blessed with so many great women in my life.
I only went walking one day because a lot of things happened. I have been eating a LOT better though and I’ve been getting exercise around the house so it’s not so bad. I ate a lot of soup this week. I had some great vegetable soup last night, which is a good thing because the cold bug has made it’s way to the kids and some of the adults that I know. I still have a lot of work to do, but I think I’m going to be taking a few naps this weekend. I’m feeling a bit achy and that’s never good.

My goal this week was to walk a slightly longer route. I did that every day I went walking except for today. It was rainy and cold and gray and I was wearing my raincoat and I had stuff on my mind so I cut it a bit short. I’m still happy with my total, though. Next week will not be as far because we have a three day holiday due to Presidents’ Day being Monday. Tuesday is Mardi Gras. I wish I was at home because all of this cold cloudiness is really good weather for gumbo. Sigh.
This has been a challenging week. I had a parent conference, I got sick one day, Nat got sick yesterday and is still home sick today, so no walking today. I have had a mommy starbucks (thanks to my friend Diva in Demand) so life is looking good despite my lack of mileage. My next challenge is going to be creatively fitting some kind of exercise into days that go wrong.
