It’s been a tough week for Little A. She has been struggling through some kind of funky bug that has gone around at school. She’s at home with me today, which means I couldn’t go for my walk and I didn’t meet my mileage goal, but that’s ok. There’s enough to do around the house (and on my to do list) to keep me occupied and even burn a few calories 🙂 . I almost completely forgot that next week is Spring Break. I think we’re going to have a good week and get a lot done. I’m firming up Easter plans now.
At the beginning of the week, I got caught in a storm and really discouraged. If there would have been any way that I could have just quit and gone home, I would have. I kept going. Thursday I refused to get slowed down and everything went better. I was jogging in the rain and the wind. I can’t wait to get back out there and get better and better times.
It is such a pleasure to go walking and running in beautiful sunny weather! I almost want to sing. Loud. I can just FEEL the vitamin D!! I sure hope we have more Spring days like this. My pace has been slowly improving and I haven’t caught myself strolling as much. This is an achievement in nice weather, when I am so happy that I look at the sky and clouds and just bliss out which is a good feeling, but not so much for the toning of the buttocks.
Vegetables are BACK!
I enjoyed some fresh steamed Brussels Sprouts yesterday evening and thought to myself, I’m back to eating a whole bunch of vegetables on a regular basis woo woo!!! (I know my kids are glad I did not say it out loud) The huge outdoor farmer’s markets are opening this weekend and our neighborhood farmer’s market opens in May! Can’t wait!
I only went walking one day because a lot of things happened. I have been eating a LOT better though and I’ve been getting exercise around the house so it’s not so bad. I ate a lot of soup this week. I had some great vegetable soup last night, which is a good thing because the cold bug has made it’s way to the kids and some of the adults that I know. I still have a lot of work to do, but I think I’m going to be taking a few naps this weekend. I’m feeling a bit achy and that’s never good.
My clothes are fitting differently! Yay! Although I’m on this journey to feel better, I’m not complaining about looking a little better too. Now all I have to do is eat more veggies…
