Monday News: Housewives and Prostitutes.

First we’ll start with the housewives.

I’m sorry that Ann Romney has battled breast cancer and Multiple Sclerosis. I am also well aware that working at home is real work. However, from the information that I have read and heard about and from her husband (including his numerous gaffes about the problems of the poor), I think it is a safe assumption that she does not have a working knowledge of the economic issues that face most regular women. I know that raising children is work from experience, but I sincerely and completely doubt her credibility as an economic advisor on women’s issues. Maybe Hilary Rosen should have said something closer to that, because what she did say was a hot mess. The response of the GOP was the sweeping generalization that all Democrats share Hilary Rosen’s views and don’t respect housewives, when if this was the case, it would be a conflict with our First Lady’s choice to be a stay-at-home mom.  How many more months of this do we have left? Six and change? Sigh.

And now for the prostitutes.

The U.S. Secret Service is known for its work guarding our presidents, cabinet members and candidates. It is also well known for doing this quietly and professionally.  They often hold parties after the assignments are over and the president has departed the location, but not this week. Eleven agents have been suspended as a result of misconduct with prostitutes near the site of the Americas Summit, (in Cartagena, Colombia) the day before President Obama arrived, so that our government could deal with the investigation and the summit at the same time.

Last but not least…

Keep the people of the Great Plains in your thoughts and prayers. Seventy-five tornadoes touched down there this weekend killing six and injuring 28.
