The true reach of poverty.

According to the November issue of Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, half of all children and 90 percent of African American children will be on food stamps at some point in their childhood. These statistics were based on 30 years of numbers before the recession. That means they could be even higher than this. Sigh. I’ll have to disagree with Keith Josef Adkins though. I have had tight money and food stamps NEVER looked appealing to me. To me they look like the last thing I would do before I die or before my children go hungry.

I agree with you. I understand how food stamps can be the only option for some people but when my funds were tight I just got really creative. Today, now that things are much better, sometimes my kids ask, “Why don’t you make Hamburger Helper anymore?” lol

I know about the bisquick recipes. LOL. It’s something how kids miss stuff like that.
