A few rumblings

cfarmThis week, I read about a local coop. A lot of local growers are raising produce all over the city. It started when a restaurant owner  got concerned about the availability of local, sustainable ingredients. She and others took action and now they are preparing for their first harvest market. I think that it is so great that people are into growing their own food. I hope this trend lasts.

Maybe uncertainty is at the root of a lot of the attitudes and spending habits of people these days, but I think it is more the realization that 1) a job can be lost at a moment and 2) there is no promise, whatsoever that another one lies around the corner. This article looks at the perception side, but I think it’s much more on the reality side,  that people realize that these bad things can and do happen,  like here.

Whatever it is, I’ll be glad when it’s over. And listen to our show at 11/10/9/8 tonight 🙂
