Summer always seems short to me, but wow, it really flew this year. Monday is going to be Labor Day. Then it’s off to school. i remember when I was a kid before school started. I could hardly sleep. I wanted to put on my new clothes and shoes and carry my new book bag. Sometimes I would get some autumn clothes that I’d have to wait to wear. That sort of stank, being in the South and having to wait until almost December to wear some stuff.
This weekend I’ll complete clothing shopping. I usually do supply shopping after I get formal lists because those generic lists that the school hands out are often off of the mark, at least in my experience.
We had a good summer. We saw a lot of neat stuff, attended several festivals, experienced the fireworks. Now for the fall. I hope that Little A’s pumpkin is ready by Halloween (though Al has informed me that he is willing to wait until Thanksgiving so he can eat it in a pie – gotta love big brothers). it’s still thriving, as is her nasturtium. I think that once i’ve checked everything off for the school thing, I’ll go in the back yard and work some magic with the cilantro and lettuce in the back yard. Hubby likes to believe he has the green thumb so I just let him, but I’ll be doing the real magic this weekend. hee hee.
