My 24 Hour Vacation

We had only planned to go off for a couple of days. We were going to go see the beach, walk the promenade and come home. Well, we had lunch overlooking the Pacific and we saw a creek on the ocean and even a waterfall (though we risked the tide coming in to find it. hee hee) Had some pretty good pizza too. It is really amazing to see mountain and forest on one side and endless ocean on the other side. The ride was wonderful and both of my youngest enjoyed their first glimpse of the ocean.
However, we had one casualty which cut things short. Little A was in the mirror at the hotel when it fell on her foot and broke it. Yes, I said broke. She went to sleep shortly afterward, but when she woke up, we went to the hospital where it was confirmed that her foot was indeed broken. When my husband brought up the injury to the hotel where we were staying (one with a reputation of customer service), the night manager gave him a form to fill out and said he was sorry she got hurt. Nothing else. I was in a hurry to get my child to the hospital but trust this will be continued.
