High winds.

For the past 16 hours or so, we’ve been having on and off heavy winds and rain. Everybody’s Christmas decorations that werent nailed or clamped down are flat right about now. There are tons of leaves, trees and pieces of trees all over the streets. Our lights didn’t go off, but they blinked. I think we are going to be looking at a generator REAL SOON, okay? Cause we have COLD weather and I need my warmth if nothing else.
This Holiday season, I feel like I have been trying my best to move forward against a wall of 60 mile per hour wind. My usual schedule and obligations are challenging, but throw Christmas into the mix, and everything seems to have become a long climb up a very steep mountain. I finally got enough together to chart my lawn decorating strategy when we learned my father in law had died. I’m still happy its Christmas. Now I’m just scurrying to get everything together for when our mother in law joins us. Constant prayer to handle that situation with compassion.
Now we’re in the home stretch. Ten days till Christmas. I can make it. I guess I know this year, now more than ever that it is not about the gifts. It’s about helping others and showing the grace that God has shown me to others.
