Life goes on.

Everything looks better after a bit of sleep. My mother in law is taking things well, but even taking it well is a process. I mean after spending 40 years with somebody and they are gone, even after a long illness, has got to be an adjustment. And even though she’s spent lots of time with us before, I’m sure the prospect of life in a new country is daunting, too. She says that she might wait until Spring to come because she doesn’t like winter, so that’s okay, but we’ll have things ready for her just in case.

Meanwhile, on the school front, Al may be taking health this year and they are learning about puberty at the ripe old age of 9, which means that I’m going to be going down to the school board for a meeting where I get to review the curriculum and details concerning the “training” teachers receive to give such a class. Then I get to decide whether Al will be opting out. It’s going to be a long meeting, but a necessary one.

We had a talk about his grandfather’s passing a few days ago, but we’ll be talking about puberty this week, especially if I decide that he can take the class. There is no way that my son is going to hear about the facts of life from a stranger first. Oh yes, then there are the holidays. I’m sure they fit in somewhere. LOL.

I can’t wait to hear how the meeting goes about the health curriculum.
