85 degrees
After a couple of weeks of highs in the mid to low 60s, it’s 85 degrees outside. To top that off, when I woke up, it was 48 degrees outside. I’ll be glad when the weather stabilizes. Whew. I guess it’s a good thing that I haven’t put away the kids’ summer clothes just yet.
Weekend wrapup
Saturday
We went to the zoo, which is really huge and beautiful, for the hubby’s company event. They had a concert and a picnic after closing hours and I was really impressed with the zoo’s catering capabilities. I did the usual meet and greet with the coworkers and stuff like that. We tried to keep it short since the baby is young and we weren’t sure how an outing with all of them would go. It went really nicely, though. Hopefully we can all go in the late Spring next year, or maybe the kids and I can take a day off and go.
Sunday
We went to the mountains and hanged out at the waterfalls. We got an ice cream cone and some popcorn at one of the lodges. It was really nice, especially since Sunday was an 80 degree day. 80 degree days are almost hot enough to annoy, you know, get the bugs all stirred up, and yet not hot enough to do physical damage. Bleah.
