Sticky Toffee Pudding
Man, I had some of that new flavor from Haagen Dazs, you know, the one that the Food Network viewer created and all of that. It was almost addictive. I mean, I was making plans to work my diet around it until I saw that it had 1200 calories per pint. Then I was like,TJ, enjoy this pint, cause there won’t be any others this summer. Tsk, tsk…

Miami Vice?
Speaking of vices, I don’t think I’ll be seeing that film remake of the television series. I just can’t seem to get past Jamie Foxx as Rico Tubbs. I mean, Rico was suave and slick and spoke Spanish and I just don’t see all of that in Mr. Foxx. Maybe it is my own shortcomings and stuff. Not to mention every time I see Colin Ferrell, I can almost hear the little leprechaun from those cereal commercials, “They’re magically delicious!” LOL… There is always cable.

It’s a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood…
I was surprised, and then not surprised to learn that Cindy Sheehan had purchased a piece of land in Crawford, TX, the home of Mr. President himself. The piece of land is going to be used for protests, and once the protests are over it will be turned into a park in memory of her son. I don’t know if I’d pay 52 grand to deal with Crawfordians, but I’m sure she believes in her cause.

Oh well, I have to go now. The baby got up and she is demanding a bath.

On the Tom Joyner show this morning they dogged Miami Vice out. They said that it was so dark it looked like it was a bootleg. Somebody even made the comment that he kept expecting to see people’s heads. LOL

And you were right. They also said that Jamie didn’t have the Rico Stubbs vibe.

Okay, the fact that somebody kept expecting to see people’s heads… THAT’S WRONG… LOL…

They said that most of the people who were going to see the movie were over 30. That surprised me, because I thought the movie would have appealed more to people who weren’t really familiar with the original.

I’m not surprised at all. I think they targeted the crowd who remembers the tv show. Think about the marketing….was there ever any that told a STORYLINE or PLOT? No one under 30 would know what the hell the concept was. I think they banked on old fans running to see it and relive “the good ole days”. But like you said….these two cats weren’t as smooth as the originals.

Think about some other shows they turned into movies. The marketing is always geared to the people who remember it best OR the cinematography (did I spell that correctly) was amazing and it drew in a new audience.

I’m glad you told me which ice cream flavor won. You know I watched the entire show … except the part where they announced the winning flavor. Doh! I was rooting for the fig ice cream. The seseme coconut conconction sounded like a hot mess! And the one with the peanut butter and the other flavor…blah. I might try the toffee pudding next time Hagen Daz goes on sale. Lately my thing has been their sorbets…mango and raspberry…oh yeah!

Miami Vice…from what I understand this is nothing like the original. I am wondering why they are using the name value since it doesn’t even come close to the series. They could have done a whole different movie with different characters and said it was based on Miami Vice. I won’t be seeing it.

    Diva,
I hear what you are sayin. This is no Charlie’s Angels. 🙂

    Berry,
I was really curious about the fig, too. I wanted to know what a canoli ice cream would taste like, too, but I had no desire to try the sesame brittle thingy.

I’m with Glory…I meant to add that to my comments earlier. Yeah, Canoli was the other one I was interested in but after much thought I realized it wouldn’t be much different from what is already out there.

Yep. Just about every evening, she goes up to her father or me and says, “Bath! Bath! Want a bath!” Then she gets her bath.
