The Toddler Bed

Remember how I said that things would get interesting once the baby got her toddler rail? Well, my prediction came true. Yesterday, we put on her toddler rail and stuff. The entire time, she was yelling, “Hey, hey!” at her father and me. This was followed with, “Mine, mine!” Just for good measure so that we wouldn’t get the mistaken idea that we could take her bed and do anything, I guess.

Last night, I took her to bed like I usually do. This time, however, she decided to grab her comforter and run for her freedom. She ran down the hall and almost made it to the stairs. I had to remind her that it was time for bed and walk her back to her room. The next time she lay in the bed until she figured that I was long gone. She left her comforter, ran down the hall and got as far as the second step. Once again, I helped her get back to her room and reinforced the idea that it was time for bed. After a while, she just gave up. She went to sleep and she has appeared to embrace toddler bed life. For now.

Meanwhile, we are supposed to have 101 degree temperatures today. And I HAVE to go outside. Bleah Bleah.

Tell me how that thing works. It went from crib to toddler bed?

LOL@the baby and her newfound night time freedom.

Well, actually, toddler beds are those little beds that use a crib mattress. When I bought the baby’s crib, I just got one that came with the side rail that I could switch out.

You know, I had never thought of that either 🙂
