Ten years ago, my husband and I got married. Hard to believe that it has been that long. A lot of good and some bad, but mostly good. Which leads me to my next question…
What is an amicable divorce? I mean, I have always read and heard about these friendly divorces. Where we love each other and we are the best of friends, and have nothing but respect for each other, but we don’t want to be married anymore, at least not to each other.
Can you sincerely promise all of that marriage stuff to somebody, decide, well, I don’t want to keep these promises anymore, and it’s okay? I mean, it’s okay with the other person? I guess that just seems really odd to me, because on some level, I’d be like either “I want your rakey rake rake out of my life now no matter what.” or I’d be like “How could you make all those promises and just flake out? After all I put up with? Where’s my lighter? You raking rake rake raker!” Of course, I would not say these things in front of the kids, but I would definitely find a way to convey them to the spouse in question.

I don’t know if there is really such a thing. If it’s so amicable, why not amicably stay together?

I was wondering that myself, Brotha Buck.
