The Heat is On/Making Moves

The heat is o-on… The heat is on, yeah it’s on the street. Another 90+ day during mid-May when it is not supposed to be like this until maybe August, and that’s a fairly large maybe. Sheesh. The baby made her way around the neighborhood yesterday. My husband was cleaning out the flowerbed for me and she was supposed to be hanging out with him, but she decided to clean up our neighbors’ flowerbeds, plucking somebody’s poor little japanese maple in the process. Then she made some new friends. She has standing playdate invitations down the street. I guess she is really making things happen for herself at the ripe old age of one and a half…

Does New Orleans even care about it’s black people?

I just had to ask after reading this. I mean, their politicians can’t even say that it is because of the elevation or the location of the lower ninth, because a couple of blocks over in St. Bernard Parish, the white people have their electricity, water and FEMA trailers and have begun the process of rebuilding. Funny how things change, and still remain the same hot ass mess. Now I remember why I left Louisiana.

Awwwwwwwww the baby has a play date. You have a couple of days to work on her attitude and make sure that she doesn’t slap anyone.

My twin/neice is such the social butterfly. Imma need her not to mess with other folks flowers though. I’m glad she is making friends.
