Yesterday afternoon I was on the phone with my mother. When I pick up that phone, I know that at least one of my kids is going to get into something or need something that just cannot wait until my conversation is over. They are just too much like their father. Just kidding honey. On this occasion, the culprit was the baby. She had not demonstrated any interest in the television or the entertainment center WHATSOEVER. I pick up the phone, and start talking and she goes from peaceful little baby on the floor with blocks to a meanspirited troublemaker.
Her brother was watching Arthur, that animated television series based on the aardvark. She stands up on the floor, waddles over to the entertainment center, turns on the VCR (I don’t even remember why we still have it, but we do), which gives a blue screen and ends his cartoon watching. But that’s not even the end. She stands in front of the VCR, which blocks his chances of seeing the cartoon. She then proceeds to grin in his face, laughing “hee hee hee” eyes gleaming with glee. This almost reduces her brother to tears because he doesn’t want to get into trouble for moving her out of the way, yet he wants to see his show. I had to put my mother on hold and intervene, but she knew she was not right for that. At eleven months.
she was just wrong.

My mom told me that her brothers are going to be settling the score with her when I’m not looking if she keeps that up. I hope they work stuff out before it comes to that.
