This morning, I attempted to make a start of the Christmas Season. There was a big sale in the mall, so I thought I’d take a look. I have come to the conclusion that I am making everyone a package and in that package there will be stuff from the import shop that works with everyone’s personality and a gift card to their favorite store, along with the obligatory Christmas photos.
I got to Sears, and got a power drill with a cord, cause I am not the one for those battery packs. They annoy me. I rang up my order, and the lady at the register offered me a replacement plan on the drill. I was like, okay. Then she offered me like, a 25 percent discount on my merchandise if I filled out a credit card application. Fuggetaboutit, okay. I don’t do store credit any more. ANY MORE. I went down that road in my early twenties. All it got me was further into debt every time I felt the need to run down to the store in question. I declined. She was like, “Are you sure? All you have to do is fill it out.” I was like, “uh, NO.” (in my old days I would have said HELL NAW, but I am growing and letting that kind of rudeness go) So I was off.
Someday, I want my black card invitation. I am almost certain that I’m going to turn it down, but hey, it is good to be invited. Keeping those shop cards out of my pocket are a step in the right direction. On with my holiday shopping.
