The world is in bad shape when you put three waffles in, turn around when they pop out of the toaster and only one is left. I heard the toaster release, and by the time I turned around and walked across the family room to the kitchen, two of them had evaporated. I had put them in for my kids, but I guess they figured that out really early this morning. What happened to the days when you could at least put them on a plate with some fruit and maybe a cute little garnish?
I’m not due for the killer flu.
This Week’s national geographic was talking about the possibility of a big flu epidemic. There was a guy on the news yesterday evening (an epidemologist) who was saying that we are due for a big flu epidemic. I thought to myself, “Speak for yourself, partner. I’m due for an oil change and maybe a hair touchup. I’m not due for a pandemic. Let me check my calendar. Nope. No pandemic.”
