The great thing about forgiveness, to me is the more I receive, the more I want to share it with others. I am sorry that it has taken me the greatest amount of time and effort to learn to forgive myself, but I am thankful that it is possible and becoming easier with time.

I am thankful for all of my friends, old and new. I was so blessed to share this evening with some of my favorite people I am not related to, my sorority sisters. They are all wonderful, dynamic beautiful human beings. We don’t always have agreement but we always have respect and that’s what friends are for.

Adversity (11.7.18)

71EZ1xM4OuL._SY550_I am thankful for all of the things I have learned in the midst of trials, tribulations and straight up drama in my life. All of those times I thought things were going well and the bottom fell out, I am grateful for them because as a result of them I hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. I’m not saying that life doesn’t sometimes get on the wrong side of my expectations, but it is easier to get back on an even keel, and for some of the things that go on around here, that is saying something great.

Music (11.6.18)

headphonesHow can I live one day without music?
How can I live one day without you?
How can I live one day without music?
Always in my head.

My mom used to sing to us when we were little, so I think that’s how it started. Both of my parents are music lovers. We listened to music at church (my parents were in the choir along with my aunts and uncles) and then we came home and listened to more music. My folks listened to a pretty wide variety of music – Gospel, Jazz, Pop, Funk, even the occasional Country and Rock. I listen to every genre of music I can get my hands on. If I like it, I like it. It has been interesting observing my children deciding on the kind of music that they like to listen to and always funny to me when they choose music that I enjoyed as a kid, despite me not playing it for them.
