For the past few years I’ve been choosing a word to set a tone for all of the ways in which I wanted to grow and change and touch the lives of others. Last year’s word was diligence,  and I have to admit it was the most challenging word I have chosen. The word I chose for 2014 is authentic. This holiday season, for me, was about spending time with people I cared about and doing what I could to bless them, not hurting myself attempting to present a perfect image of my life that is not real. It was so liberating and I can’t wait to live my life that way, striving for excellence and balance with equal intensity. Go me.

Yes! Have you read Brene Brown’s Daring Greatly? Her Ted Talk was great!

No, but I have read some of The Gifts of Imperfection, and I found it really interesting because by then a lot of what she was saying had been in my head for a while.
