This morning I read about Kal and Edna Horine, a couple that has been married for 74 years. That’s almost three quarters of a century. I always like reading about and listening to people who have been married for a long time. I always come away with something to think about that can be applied to my life in general and my own marriage in particular.

I am a big fan of Valentine’s Day. A lot of people think its a big commercial scam, but I like chocolate and flowers and love so I’ll take all of them. I asked my husband what he thought about the holiday and while he says that he likes it, he thinks that people should show their love and appreciation for the special people in their lives everyday, not just one or two days a year. He is pretty thoughtful and I am thankful that for the past sixteen years, he’s been my valentine. I’m also thankful for my family and friends and the love I’ve received from them as well.
