I think just about everybody hears, in early elementary school, that they have two ears and one mouth. Because of this, listening is often more important than being heard. What if that lesson was applied to political discourse and debate? What if people kept it in mind when they encountered people who they thought had nothing in common with (when we all have so much in common)?  America has achieved greatly, but to whom much is given, much is expected.
