Fifty-five years ago she stood up by sitting down.

Today's google doodle is about Rosa Parks' refusal to give up her seat.

Rosa Parks was not the first person to sit down on a bus and refuse to give up her seat, but she was a catalyst for the REAL Civil Rights movement.  When people like her stood up, even without violence, they were doing a radical thing that was easily taking their lives into their hands. The nobility of the men, women and children who were the foot soldiers in this battle for dignity should never be mired in the trashy attempts at justification by people who identify themselves with property thieves with bad makeup in order to appear relevant and ardent in their cause. That is all.
