What is it with men and texting?

DVGsidekickbI’m all for technology. Really. Gadgets are my friends. What is up with the male texting thing, though? Sometimes verbal communication can go a long way. This morning I saw Steve Harvey on Good Morning America. They were discussing an interesting question, “Can men and women be friends?” I’ve always had male friends. Always, but I can definitely see where frienships can clash with relationships. There were two men on the show who were in relationships with women, and their outside friendships had created issues. In one, the couple was married and in the other, the couple was engaged. How did these issues come to a head? Text messages to their female friends. I think men and women can be friends which sort of conflicts what Mr. Harvey said, but I also agree with what he (and Chris Rock) have said, which is that men are mostly (not always, but mostly) friends to women because they have been put in the “friend zone”.  I wish they would quit the texting (texting female friends, texting folks to end relationships, texting folks to propose marriage, etc.) though, because nothing good ever comes of it. Ever.

I agree. Be a man. Do it face to face.
