Yes, I know that Sisters With Sense did a current events special last week and I know that we were supposed to cover affordable sustainability, keeping it green while saving green, but so much happened this week. Kim Jong Il threatened to blow the United States off of the map. Mark Sanford got busted after he made an international booty call. He’s apologizing now, but he is telling you, he isn’t going. The one person a lot of folks sometimes, wish would go away, Perez Hilton, got punched. Though actor Josh Duhamel (Fergie’s husband )wasn’t involved, he (along with half of the hemisphere) kinda wishes he was.
On the sad side of things, Ed McMahon, who was best known as Johnny Carson’s straight man, died at the age of 86 after a battle with cancer. The biggest blows of the day, though, were delievered early Thursday morning with the death of actress and style icon Farrah Fawcett and later, Michael Jackson. The news of Michael Jackson’s passing came on twitter as I was cleaning up my notes for the green show, and after discussing it with Melette, we came to the conclusion that we could not even begin to discuss any aspect of the environment. His music touched EVERYBODY. Everywhere. It was too big and too current, so we did the current events show. We’ll be back next week with the green show and more current events.
