For this beautiful award.

The ever lovely (and honest, dang girl) Tiki tagged nominated me for this Certified Honest Blogger Award.  Now, in keeping with this dubious distinction, I will share the rules, my ten facts and my own awardees.

When you receive the prize you must write a post showing it, together with the name of who has given it to you, and link them back.

Choose a minimum of 7 blogs (or more) that you find brilliant in their content or design.

Show their names and links and leave them a comment informing they were prized with ‘Honest Weblog’.

Show a picture of those who awarded you and those you give the prize (optional).

List [if you can and or dare] at least ten honest things about yourself.

And then, pass it on.

Now without further ado…

Ten honest things about TJ…

1.  I’m a really laid back person most of the time. Just avoid me when I’m on a political rant or if I’ve encountered really stupid people. Especially if I haven’t eaten.

2. When I’m having a hell nall moment, all of my thoughts sound like Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction.

3. I am a stay at home mom now (with an at home business hustle from time to time), but I used to be a corporate mommy. I like where I am, but women should choose what’s best for them and their kids.

4. If you’ve been to the Forum Shops in Vegas, you’ve seen some of my work.

5. I don’t really miss it though. I miss hanging out in San Francisco and some of my more important meetings. I miss the energy of Silicon Valley (when I worked there), but uh, the day to day, nope.

6. I’m a reformed shlumpadinka. Sort of. I’ve always been serious about fashion and makeup, but I had fallen into suburban complacency for a little while. My mom came to help me when it was time for Little A to be born, and everywhere we went, people were walking up to her to pay her compliments, while I got crickets. That ended that. Though I’ll never have my mom’s eye makeup game, I can’t be the cricket girl for nobody. Not even mama.

7. I have had people tell me all kinds of things. I’m not happy in my marriage/I’m not REALLY married, but I wear a wedding band and call her my wife/My husband’s about to lose his job/I’m having an affair/and on and on and on. Sometimes I just say hi. And people start confessing.

8.  I’m almost finished with my dad’s American family tree. I found some interesting stuff about his link to a very prestigious family.

9. What amazed me about finding that information was how little it really matters to me. How little effect it has on my daily life. I think it will help my children to some extent to be able to know their history in this country, but my hope is that my children will espouse the values that have driven me and my ancestors toward seeking to be people who give more than they take from this world. That carried us a whole lot further than who we are on this and that side.

10.  Al has been shown his father’s ancestor information from about two thousand years ago. I’m not going that far back. No way.
