Shopping While Black

While I didn’t care too much for the documentary, I do like the internet features linked to CNN’s Black in America series. I especially thought a lot about the experiences of Leah Wells and her friends, who were detained without cause at Old Navy, while dressed in office attire. Just about every black person, regardless of socioeconomic status (remember Miss O at Hermes?) has a similar story, which is no surprise to those who know the history of our country. I wish I could have seen her story on the segment about women and children. I wish the impact of these incidents could be studied.
