Come for the jazz. Stay for the politics.

I already know that politicians will say anything to get elected. Or paid. Or elected, then paid? Anywho. John Mccain solicited John Hagee’s support. John Hagee says that New Orleans people brought the hurricane on themselves because of their sin. John Mccain condemns those statements, but he still welcomes Hagee’s support. Was this not the same man who condemned Bush as being in league with ‘agents of intolerance’ ? Pesky long term memory.

Now, he says that what happened with Katrina was “terrible and disgraceful” and will never happen again. Ok. And he condemned both the Bush administration and congress for their parts in the recovery efforts. Mind you, he has offered no programs or specific dollar figures to help the region, and in May 2006 he voted against a bill that included $29 billion in hurricane aid. I hope he has a plan in place to keep horse show organizers from running FEMA. I’m just saying.
