Before I start this rant, here is some bad news for Obama haters. Read on.
I think that it is a wonderful thing that people are so interested in these debates and are participating in the political process with an enthusiasm that I have to admit that I have never witnessed. BUT. There are some bona fide nuts out there. I mean, it is a good thing for one to believe in his or her candidate of choice. Really. But mad dog politics, you know, those personal attacks that resort to anything just to get people to consider their side of things (no matter how false, illogical, or just plain stupid), its tacky. Is it that serious? I’ve heard that Hillary ruined trade in america (though NAFTA well, SUCKS, it is still a reach) and that Barack Obama is not really black and has no clue of what it means to be black in America (never mind that he has probably done more work with disadvantaged blacks than most of the people who picked up a keyboard or pen or microphone to express that nonsense). I thought the point was to investigate each candidate’s record and discuss our views in a civilized manner. You know, informed discourse and what not. I know of one or two people who write and speak as if they may need a padded wagon on standby should Obama get the nomination and I just don’t think it is THAT serious. Serious enough to vote, yes, but not for the padded wagon.
