Mickey D’s does NOT want my money. I dont care how many pictures of Dr. MLK Jr. they throw up.

It’s been a few years since I consciously (for the most part) gave up eating from restaurants that have drive thrus (and whose employees have no health or dental benefits- which is why I love Burgerville), but McDonalds has officially worked my last nerve. This story just cements in my head that my decade plus long boycott of BET was the right decision. Trash. Trash. Trash. on Bet.com and then for them to attempt to justify such foolishness, as being simply the preferred means of marketing of their favored demographic. Oh well.

On a more positive note…

I try to be as mindful as possible, on a regular basis, of the sacrifices and accomplishments of those on whose shoulders I stand. My ancestors, leaders like the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr and Thurgood Marshall and Malcolm X and Medgar Evers and Constance Baker Motley and Shirley Chisolm and Carol Mosely Braun and Hattie McDaniel and Angela Davis and Rosa Parks and Frederick Douglas and Harriet Tubman and Ida Wells Barnett and W.E.B. Dubois and Zora Neale Hurston and Langston Hughes and Countee Cullen and Nikki Giovanni and Maya Angelou and Fannie Lou Hamer and Eunice Hunton Carter and Madame C. J. Walker and Maggie L. Walker and Mary Church Terrell and Juanita Kidd Stout and Barbara Jordan and many many many others who walked and still walk among us. To be thankful for the progress we have made and mindful of the journey that lies ahead.
