Eating better.

The one weak spot during this whole attempt to get into better shape has been the eating thing. I mean, I come from a long line of folk who like to cook almost as much as they like to eat. Cakes, cookies, entrees, sides… We do it all. And quite nicely I might add. Then there is the whole thing about me deciding that whatever I did to get in shape, I would have to maintain it. Be it gym membership, change in diet, whatever, and I’m sorry, I need more than twigs and berries. Shoot. This week I came across two people who really made me think about that.

The first one was my younger sister. She has joined a gym at work and she is doing big things. She’s eating a lot healthier than I was, and she still lives in the South, with much greater access to all of that good cooking. Then during a convo with Diva, she told me how she is going to be streamlining her diet in preparation for her description defying holiday plans. I decided to incorporate a lot more fruits and vegetables into my diet this week. So far so good. 🙂 Oh yes, and for Christmas, I’ll also incorporate more veggies and fruit, but uh, I’ll also be eating REAL food. Hee hee hee.

I’m feeling you. It’s so easy for me to not eat as well as I should for convenience sake. I mean, it’s just me. I’m going to get better, though.

good luck to you. i’ve always had a hard time incorporating more good foods in my diet, but i think that if you can train for all that running, you can do anything!

Melette: I don’t know why its more convenient to eat badly. Bad food is just everywhere. No matter where you go, there is always something you shouldnt be eating. What’s up with that?

Glory: I hope I can apply the resolve that has made me not give up on training to this food.
