Rock walls and Bangkok

Al is taking rock climbing as part of his PE class this semester. He really enjoys it. I remember sigining him up when he was six or so. I think he was less enthusiastic back then. It’s good to know that he has grown more fond of it. I’ve always wanted to learn, too. Maybe we’ll go climbing together once I learn.

I’m also brushing up on my chess so that I can help him with strategies and stuff. I’ve had people tell me it was a nerdy thing for Al to be into, but after I read about some young sister chessmasters, I was really encouraged. If he decides to stick with it, I’ll support him all the way.

I want to learn how to play chess. You can use strategy games in real life. People are stupid.

The reason I wanted Al to get involved was to help him put together his strengths and meet other kids in the process (I mean, how many thuggish kids do you know who play chess? LOL). He won three games today. 🙂
