This morning I heard Little A’s voice continuously. She was humming her little work/mess stuff up song, so first I checked the bathrooms. No damage. Everything was cool in the kitchen. No Little A, yet the song continued. I opened the patio door curtains and lo and behold, Little A was in the flowerbed, covered in dirt up to her knees and elbows, “planting” her strudel.
I blame Winnie the Pooh for this. One of her favorite stories is Pooh’s Honey Tree, where Pooh mistakenly thinks he can plant a jar of honey and get a tree out of the deal. I don’t know if she connected the dots or what, but I really was not prepared for that little lesson in toddler horticulture. Then again, her dad HAS been really into the whole planting thing lately.
I am so thankful that she did not do this yesterday or the day before. It was WAY too hot for this kind of stuff.

My mama told me, “Watch her. She’s ALWAYS thinking.” She was right.
