My dad and I haven’t always seen eye to eye, but I respect the hard work that he did to take care of me and my sisters. My husband is a good father. I tried to make today extra special for him since it is his first Father’s Day without his father. We had a really deep conversation about things we could both do to be better parents. A lot of talking and listening, which can be a really good thing after a decade or so.

good for you guys! it was weird – this mother’s day my honey and i bought a card a piece. but come father’s day, i was the only one buying a card. i’m thankful for my dad too.
