The wind out of my sails.

Yesterday I got an email about a scholarship fund that some of the people in my community are creating. I was like, okay, I can support that. Then I found out that it was a memorial scholarship and the name in whose memory the scholarship was being created was really familiar. She wasn’t a really close friend, but she was one of those people I looked forward to seeing at events. It had been about three years or so since I last saw her, but I didn’t expect to be attending an event for the funding of her memorial scholarship fund. She was a really nice person and really gave of herself to support other people. I’m proud to be attending the event next month (and by the way, why is April filling up for me before the 15th of March?), but I just wish I could have been seeing her in person, saying hi, asking how she was doing, instead of donating to this fund in her name. Life is so short.

Yes, it is. That’s why we have to grateful for the time we are given.

I know that, but I guess I really know that after yesterday.
