I had hoped to boycott the academy awards this year in light of people named Project Pat having one for a best song about the hardships of a pimp, but since Jennifer Hudson (and Forrest Whitaker and Will Smith) was nominated, I had to watch. I also wanted to see if Babel won best picture, which it did not. I didn’t care if Donkey Eddie Murphy won or not. After Norbit, Eddie Murphy gets no more time or money from me. Not that I went to see Norbit. I’m angry that I was subjected to trailers.
Was it me, or did it seem like the show was EXTRA LONG this year. I live on the west coast, and I STILL was almost ready to move on once I knew Jennifer Hudson had won. The only thing that kept me tuned in were best actor and director. I wanted to see if Martin Scorcese would finally win, but shoot, I knew the answer to that when I saw the people who were presenting.
Once again, it might just be me, but when I see Steven Spielberg and George Lucas up on stage to present an award for best director, red flags go off in my head. Martin Scorcese finally got his oscar.
