A couple of days ago, the baby turned SIX MONTHS!!! SIX MONTHS!!! I’m so happy and proud. He is trying to pull forward and sits with support and rolls around everywhere. He is a joy, even when he is being grumpy. I’m not sure if his siblings agree, especially his sister whose hair he likes to pull. Come to think of it, he likes to pull everyone’s hair. He likes the teddy bears and blocks too. He even likes the occasional story.
This evening, there is going to be a big Mardi Gras celebration where I live. No, I dont live ANYWHERE near a gumbo, jambalaya or crawfish pie (outside of the frozen section), but I think Mardi Gras celebrations have become the thing to do around the country this time of year. Of course Carnival has been celebrated in its different manifestations all around the world for centuries. I dont think I’ve had a king cake since the year before Katrina hit. Still havent had anything remotely resembling a Mardi Gras celebration. Maybe I’ll have a little party next year or something. cupcakes with the purple, gold and green sugar or something. Something.
