Running
I got out of the house this morning around nine and didnt sit down again until almost 6:00. I did a lot of walking, running and everything else. Right now, I’m just breathing, hearing the sound of my breath and plotting my next move. I’ve been reading a lot for the past few days, which is why I have been posting in fits and starts.
I thought I’d do something a little different for Black History Month. I’m so excited. Hee hee hee. I know. It doesnt take much. Last year I did a bunch of biographies. Now, while I have tons more, trust me, I have something different in the works for this year. I’m also working to sharpen my skills as a mother and businesswoman and planning a large project or two. Maybe I’ll write about them.
The Kids are Alright
The boys and girl are growing and thriving. The baby just passed out after playing with some blocks. It is so hard to believe that in the next month he will be half a year old. He likes singing and his blocks and of course, his milk. My sisters got him a Got Milk? t-shirt for Christmas. It is sooo him. lol.
The Mommy Wars, Again?
Earlier this week, I saw a show on Oprah about women who stay at home and go to work and the supposed chasm between the two. It was SO funny because they did a survey which revealed that 66 percent of the women working wanted to stay at home and around 33 percent of the women staying at home wanted to work, which totally confirmed my theory that the women with the most angst and least respect for the ones on the other side of the fence are the ones who are the least secure with their own childrearing choices. I feel so validated. LOL. As long as the kids get the discipline and love and attention that they need, then it’s okay for a mother to work outside of the home and it’s okay for a mother to stay at home too. Really.
