A Strong Voice

This plinky prompt asked us to name a book we had read that had a captivating voice. Here goes.
I had already heard and read lots of good things about Craig Robinson upon his arrival in the Pacific Northwest to coach the men’s basketball team at Oregon State University and there was the matter of his being Michelle Obama’s older brother and his introduction of her at the Democratic National convention, but what really drew me in about this book was the candor with which the author wrote about the positive and negative events in his life. Yes, he talked about his high paying days working in the finance sector, but he also wrote about having to take a giant paycut in order to pursue his true passion and while he told the story of how he was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers, he also told of how he was eliminated during tryouts. He painted a real picture of the successes in his life reached through trial and error.
