The crash.

Saturday, my husband and I went for a ride with the kids when all of a sudden we were passed up by the police mustangs and three fire engines and two ambulances. Then we saw a thin cloud of smoke on the other side of the road. Traffic came to a complete stop for a few seconds. I looked at the opposite lane of traffic and there was a line of cars that looked like they all just suddenly got off of the road and parked on the grass. The last things I saw were the crumpled and mangled mass that must have been a car at some point and a mass covered in a black blanket. Sigh. I checked the local news to find out what happened and one person was killed, one person was in critical condition and one person seriously injured when someone entered traffic in the wrong direction at a high speed. The most disheartening thing about it was the experience of perusing comments people left on the news sites. I don’t know the whole situation, but somebody did die and maybe sometimes it really is better to say nothing at all than to leave some of these comments.

That is horrible! We were driving home Saturday night and saw a man entering the highway on the exit ramp. Before that we drove next to a woman who was texting with BOTH hands and speeding. We PROMPTLY got off the highway and got our behinds in the house as soon as possible.

I’ve never been in such a hurry to contact somebody that I had to text and drive. Ever. I get nervous when I see people driving on the cell phone.
