It won’t happen to me.

Anytime people go into the mountain passes (especially in the winter), there are multliple warnings that the weather can change in the blink of an eye. All kinds of stormy weather can start out of nowhere. Yet, EVERY year since my family has lived in the area (sometimes twice or three times per year), someone has been  stranded on the mountain or never made it down. You would think that people would have any technology necessary to ensure that they can be located in the event of an avalanche or storm or nightfall catching up with them or falling into a crevasse or… you get the idea, but I guess these people don’t believe that THEY are going to be the next person whose image will be flashed on the news. Sigh.

Girl you are telling the truth! When I saw the latest people on the news I asked myself why do people continue to ignore warnings and go up there.

I hope they find them and then I hope the climbing rules change.
