The only person I ever speak to on the phone when I’m driving is my mother, and she really does not approve, even though I talk hands free. While she has a very firm way of letting us, her children, know when she does not like what we do, I had pretty much resolved not to talk and drive, ever, especially since Al is watching my driving habits and in only four or five years, he will be on the road. That’s a bothersome enough thought without the consideration of the whole talking (and texting – how in the world do you do something like that while driving anyway? Just hit a tree and get it over with.) while driving phenomenon. Then there is the incident in the picture. A young driver on the phone plowed through a red light and broad sided a 61-year old woman in an SUV, killing her.
