A bald eagle story.

eagleThe first time I saw a bald eagle in the wild, my husband, two sons and I had taken a trip into the mountains. Deep into the mountains. There were rivers and streams where the eagles (and some bears, but we missed them, I am so thankful) plucked fish out of the water to eat. They are so amazing to see in action. We saw some land and take off and it was breathtaking. I’m so glad the founders of this nation ignored Benjamin Franklin (who wanted to have the turkey as the national bird). Don’t get me wrong. I love a turkey, but it is nothing like an eagle. They are so huge and majestic. You know how they say “soar like an eagle”? It is a cliche, but it is something to see. What a magnificent national symbol of the United States!

Have a Happy Independence Day and a Safe Weekend!
