Sometimes I wonder

what in the world goes on in news meetings these days. Maybe it’s my cynicism setting in or something, but when I see a story entitled, “Some blacks choose inauguration over work” I kind of wonder what is the point of the story, because  are not people of other ethnic origins doing the same thing? Was there nothing else to report other than the obvious? The person who wrote this (and the people who have been bringing us these dog breed updates) should send thank you notes to the president-elect for the easy work days he has brought them.

Some court rulings just have bad idea written all over them.
I read this story yesterday, when it was new. I thought to my self, “What the hell?” and decided to sleep on it and take another look. Well, I’m still like, “What the hell?” I understand how the law defines adulthood and all, but I think that it is a bad idea for teachers to get any indication that it is okay to have sex with 18 year old students. Maybe it’s the protective mother in me, but we live in Mary Kay LaTourneau country. Shoot.
