There is something about walking and jogging outside in my neighborhood that seems to put my mind at ease and my life into perspective. It’s not just the exercise, because I don’t get the same clarity when I work out at the gym. Everything that I’m working on, that I’m thinking about, is just completely laid out and not so complex. No matter what the problem is, it’s just a whole lot simpler when I go walking outside. Maybe it is the trees and the creeks and the hills and the chirping birds. Or the interaction with the dog walkers and other joggers. I just feel tremendous during and after a nice jog. Even when I take the kids. I know I’ve written about this before, but it just feels so good.
