Secret Admirers

Last night I was watching this episode of Three’s Company. It was the one where this short guy with glasses and lots of polyester (this was the late 70s) had a crush on Chrissy (Suzanne Somers). Everybody got all nervous that he might want to be serious, when all he wanted to do was let her know that he thought she was wonderful and that maybe they could be friends. I thought that was so sweet, that this man just wanted to be thought of, to be considered as a friend by this beautiful woman he saw every day. No hidden motives. No games. No text messaging. I think it could happen in real life.

Romance Novels

Saturday, my husband and I had a conversation about romance novels. He said that men read them sort of like, “smut for smut’s sake.” Just enjoying smut. Nothing more. I said that some men must read these books for ideas that can be used on chicks. What to say, romantic ideas for different occasions, etc. He said no, but I’m sorry, I think they do. SOME guys out there in the book reading world must have thought at some time, “Chicks dig this stuff. Let me try this. and this.” Maybe my husband is right, but I don’t think so.

We also talked about how you can have two people, with the exact same intentions, who do the exact same things, but one person would be interpreted as “into” someone, and the other person would be interpreted as a stalker. LOL.

A Wonderful Summer Night

Stevie Wonder is coming to town toward the end of Summer. I am SO EXCITED!!! I am a big big big big big Stevie Wonder fan. I grew up listening to his music. I think just about everybody in my generation had ONE song (at least) of his that they liked. I had the FIRST greatest hits compilation by Tamla, the musiquarium, the Millenium Box Set, Just too many albums to name. Stuff before my time. LOL. Can’t wait. Can’t wait.

Overheard while shopping with my mother-in-law

Are all American bras padded or underwire? Me: Uh, no, but most of them seem to be. (What I wanted to blurt out loud was, “Why would anybody want a bra that doesn’t push the ladies way up or make em look way bigger?” Of course I didn’t, but I sort of wanted to, but I didn’t. Hee hee hee.)
