The Power of a Good Popsicle
I tried an experiment, and I really think that saying is true, that you can’t stay mad with a popsicle in your mouth. At least not a good one. This afternoon, I was sitting in my bedroom, basically hiding from my family, eating on a popsicle. Why, you may ask? Because it was that good. It was one of those Dreyer’s (Edy’s east of the Rockies) fruit bars – lime flavored, and it was soooo good. The bars are flavored with real fruit and juice and sugar, not corn syrup and are about 80 calories a piece. I almost like them better than ice cream. Diva In Demand hipped me to my local grocery store, which had em on special, so I stocked up. Could this be an ice cream free Summer?
What was that?
I hadn’t been to a good carnival in a few years, so this Friday, the family and I went to a big carnival on the riverfront. There were lots and lots of rides (I rode the sled ride with Nat and the carousel with little A – Al and his dad rode the bumper cars), good food. I don’t know why Al wanted an elephant ear, but he was keen to get one. I had a chicken satay from the Thai restaurant’s booth and it had peanut sauce and it was REALLY REALLY tasty. It took all of my home training to keep me from licking my fingers. The kids got pirate patches from the inhabitants of the pirate village. The night ended with a beautiful fireworks display on the water. We had one of the best seats in the house at the carnival. The kids really enjoyed the fireworks. I don’t remember fireworks being so loud. I know somebody who saw that display was like, “huh?” for the rest of the evening.
Little A on the Move
Little A is getting around these days. She wants to do everything she did before she got hurt. I guess that’s a typical two year old. The only little problem with that is that the few times she has a tandrum, people have to have protective head gear. It’s arms and legs (cast leg included) everywhere.
