Not your average freedom fighter

I thought it would be fitting, on the 39th anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., to include a photograph (thanks Getty Images) of this lady, Annie Cooper.
Annie Cooper made the news in Selma in the 1960s for wrestling a white policeman to the ground after he harassed her while she waited in line to register to vote. He weighed 280 pounds, and she is still walking this earth, age 96. I’ll bet he is not. I’ll also bet that he did not think that he was going to get his behind whooped by a woman in her 50s. That must have been a sight to behold, indeed.
